Fungal infection of the nail plate.
Trumpet Nail; Increased horizontal curvature of the nail caused by curvature of the matrix.

Folded Nail; Very curved nail plate.
Split or brittle nails that have vertical ridges.
Separation and falling off of the nail from the nail bed.
Horizontal depressions caused by trauma or illness.
Common bacteria that leads to infection that will discolor the nail bed green, yellow or black.
White spots on the nail.
Blue or purple nail bed from poor circulation.
Inflammation of the nail Matrix followed by shedding of the nail.

Injury to the nail that damages capillaries and allows a small amount of blood flow.
Dark Purple or blue spots from injury.
Bitten Nails
Claw Nails; enlargement and thickening of the nails including a curvature.
Lifting of the nail plate from the nail bed, without shedding, beginning at the free edge and moving toward the lunula.
Pitted and or severe roughness on the surface of the nail.
Very thin, white flexible nails that may curve over the free edge.
Dark pigmentation on the nail.
