Aircraft Vocabulary

Horizontales
Main body of an aircraft
Type of Stabilizer. Prevents up-and-down, or pitching, motion of the aircraft nose.
A hinged surface in the trailing edge of an airplane wing, used to control lateral balance.
Verticales
Produces lift
The hinged section of the tail of the airplane, which helps the plane move right or left; that is yaw.
Flight control surfaces, usually at the rear of an aircraft, which control the aircraft's pitch, and therefore the angle of attack and the lift of the wing
Type of Stabilizer Typically found on the aft end of the fuselage or body, and are intended to reduce aerodynamic side slip and provide direction stability
