Perfusion Terminology

Horizontales
The strong muscular layer of the heart
The smooth inner layer of tissue that makes up the inside of the heart and lines the heart valves.
Carry unoxygenated blood back to the right side of the heart.
Ventricular relaxation occurs- allowing the atrias to contract pushing blood down into the ventricular chambers.
Verticales
The double layered outer sac that surrounds the heart.
Ventricular contraction occurs- forcing blood either into the aorta and out to the body or into the pulmonary arteries.
Carry oxygenated blood throughout the body.
Allow unidirectional blood flow to the next chamber or great vessel.
