Horizontales
This is a comparison in which an idea or a thing is compared to another thing that is quite different from it. It aims at explaining that idea or thing by comparing it to something that is familiar.
It is a figure of speech in which a thing, an idea or an animal is given human attributes. The non-human objects are portrayed in such a way that we feel they have the ability to act like human beings.
It is "a group of words" established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., it's raining "cats and dogs," etc.).
Verticales
It is a word which imitates the natural sounds of a thing. It creates a sound effect that mimics the thing being described, making the description more expressive and interesting than the actual sound or action.
It is a "a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable."
These are exaggerated statements that are not meant to be taken literally.
It is a play on words in which a humorous effect is produced by using a word that suggests two or more meanings or by exploiting similar sounding words having different meanings.
