The fun terms of Algebra!

Horizontales
A monomial or the sum or difference of two or more monomials (called terms in this case). In other words, it is an expression made up of terms. Poly means many and nomial means parts.
The highest or lowest point of a parabola depending on if it opens up or down.
The number an exponent is placed upon. This number can be anything as long as it obeys the speed limit.
The amount of times a number is multiplied by itself. An exponent is attached to its base number.
A function with multiple equations that are split up into pieces.
A function that looks like a linear equation but goes perpendicular to itself after crossing the y-axis. This makes it V-shaped.
An equation made up of two or more inequalities, thus combined or compounded.
When two exponential expressions with the same base are divided, the result is the same base raised to the difference of the exponents (always numerator - denominator).
A movement changing the X and Y intercept based off of the constant value added.
The x value that outputs a y-value based on slope. This is also known as the domain or just X.
The sum of the exponents of the variables in the monomial.
Operations that are opposite of one another
Verticales
The way that polynomials are named, which is based on their degree or number of terms. Examples are monomials, binomials, trinomials or polynomials for anything above 3 degrees (respectively). The names based off of degree are as follows: Constant, linear, quadratic, cubic, quartic and so on (respectively).
A curved line that goes down and then upwards based off of its axis of symmetry.
Either the lowest or highest point of the graph.
The value of y/x that forms a line when plotted.
A method of solving a system of equations by multiplying and combining the equations in a system in order to eliminate a variable.
Two graphed lines (based off slope) that have a reciprocal of each other’s slope.
Two relations that look different but are equivalent to the same amount.
The rule stating that if the exponent of a number is 0, then the number becomes 1.
A one term expression, or moreover a real number, variable or the product of one or more real numbers or variables. Note that a monomial can be a polynomial.
The y value that is what is received based off of the x value and slope formula. This is also known as the range or just Y.
A relationship and comparison between two quantities that can be written with a fraction or decimal.
